The Wholls are a Bedford-based 4-piece who play alternative rock music with a sound that sits comfortably on mainstream radio. Their live shows make punk rock look like a picnic, performed with unrivalled enthusiasm and energy.
The band have been playlisted on Radio 1, Radio X ROTW, Virgin Radio ROTW, Bayhern 3 Germany ROTW, German FM stations and received spot plays in the UK. Their total Spotify streams are in excess of 3 million.
In 2016 The Wholls were asked to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading Festival and were hailed as Radio 1’s ‘Best Of’ Reading Festival. Setting their sights on the European market, the band flew out to Germany in the September of that year to perform at the Reeperbahn Festival. With a small, low-budget student radio campaign in place they totally packed out the Hamburg venue, resulting in a sold-out show and a queue around the block of 300+ people.
2017 kicked off with a European tour alongside Royal Republic in venues across the continent packed with up to 3,000 people. The Wholls returned to Germany in May 2017 to perform a residency at Sage Club which, by the final week, was sold out. Their blinding live performances saw them light up numerous stages throughout 2017 including being part of all This Feeling & Jack Daniel’s ‘Jack 7’ festival stages and main support at Bedford Park for The Kaiser Chiefs and Feeder, The Isle of Wight festival and The Great Escape, TRNSMT, Y-Not, Reading, Wilkestock (BBC Introducing), Sound of the Forest (Germany) and Kazoopa (Headline).
