Norwegian singer-songwriter Frida Amundsen first entered the music scene in 2011 with the release of her debut single “Closer”. The track secured considerable radio airplay across Norwegian stations fuelling public interest and Amundsen’s subsequent single “September Song”, from her debut album “September Blue” (2012), reached number 10 in the Norwegian charts.
Since then, Amundsen has been songwriting and growing a loyal European fan base under her artist project name “Cal” whilst also working and writing songs for the likes of Kaskade, Charlotte Lawrence, Afrojack, Ritual, Coucheron, Sandra Lyng and CLMD.
2019 has been a particularly big year for the rising star, having performed the EMBRZ song “Doubt House” at Metropolis Studios, London, for the Ellesse UK campaign My Style My Sound and in August, her vocals also featured on the electro-house banger “There For You”. The song from electro-house production duo Gorgon City and DJ, MK, was co-written by Amundsen and went to number one on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart. To date it has gained more than five million YouTube views and over 15 million Spotify plays!
