Kassner Music Welcomes Paul Simm to its Roster
Kassner Music is thrilled to share the news that it has signed a global publishing deal with songwriter and producer Paul Simm.
Beginning his career as a session musician in London, Paul transitioned to full-time studio work in the 1990s. This shift led to him co-writing and co-producing the BRIT Award-nominated single “Overload” by Sugababes, alongside Felix Howard, Kassner Music’s Head of A&R. Released in 2000 via London Records, the song featured on the group’s debut album One Touch and peaked at #6 in the UK Official Chart, while also reaching the Top 10 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and New Zealand.
The song was later covered by Bastille and included in the soundtrack of the 2015 film Kill Your Friends. More recently, it was interpolated in A Little Sound’s 2024 dance release “Situation”.
“Run For Cover”, also co-written by Paul, was the third single from the Sugababes’ One Touch album. It achieved a Top 20 position in the UK and was a Top 40 hit across Europe.
Paul later co-wrote Siobhán Donaghy’s debut solo single “Overrated” following her departure from the Sugababes. The track became a Top 20 hit in the UK and was A-listed at BBC Radio 1.
Since this run of chart hits, Paul has collaborated with a range of acclaimed artists, including Amy Winehouse, Neneh Cherry and Mutya Buena. He is also a member of Virgin Souls, formed in the early 2000s alongside renowned songwriter and producer Cameron McVey and fellow members Silvio Pacini and Neil Pearson. The band signed to London Records and released the album 162 in September 2003.
Paul’s most recent creative partnership has been with artist Bethia Beadman, who is signed to 5dB Records. He co-wrote and produced her debut single “Brick” as well as three additional tracks that appear on her album Kitten Feel, released on 5th June this year.
