Writer-Producer Benji Totten Joins the Kassner Music Roster

Kassner Music is thrilled to announce that it has signed Benji Totten to a global publishing deal. Benji is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter hailing from Southeast London, with a distinctive musical voice shaped by years of world-class experience. A graduate of the prestigious BRIT School for Performing Arts and Music, Benji has carved a unique path through the UK and global music scenes, blending technical excellence with creative depth.

He began his professional journey playing guitar for Jorja Smith in 2016, touring extensively across the world and helping shape the live sound of one of the UK’s most influential new artists. After several years with Jorja, Benji joined Sam Smith’s live band, where he performed on the Gloria World Tour and expanded his musical palette even further.

Beyond the stage, Benji has been writing and producing music for over eight years, collaborating in the studio with a wide array of artists including Jorja Smith, Sasha Keable, Col3trane and Santino Le Saint. Recently, Benji has been involved in developing Polydor artist and Ivor Novello Rising Star nominee Nia Smith.

While guitar remains his main instrument, Benji’s broad musical knowledge and intuitive understanding of arrangement allow him to contribute meaningfully across a spectrum of projects — from stripped-back soul to cinematic pop, from experimental R&B to genre-blending electronic sounds. Currently, Benji is focused on expanding his work as a writer and producer, eager to collaborate across genres and continue crafting music that moves, surprises, and connects.
