Kassner Music is delighted to announce that it has signed London based producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Chuks Chiejine, to an exclusive worldwide publishing deal.
Chuks is best known for co-writing the track “Sugar” for US alternative hip-hop collective, BROCKHAMPTON. Currently standing at over 276 million streams on Spotify alone, “Sugar” became a viral TikTok sensation in 2019. The song’s popularity endured throughout the following year with an official remix having been released in March, featuring vocals from Dua Lipa and Jon B.
In addition to his continued involvement with BROCKHAMPTON, Chuks works with a variety of artists and songwriters at his studio in Battersea, London, recently securing cuts with Raye collaborator, Odunsi (The Engine), and co-writes with Dan Caplen, Bully, Bnann and Liam O’Donnell.
Chuks has also had previous success working as a session guitarist for Nigerian artist Burna Boy, joining him on his 2019 tour, playing at Coachella festival and performing live on the Jimmy Kimmel show.
With deep roots in R&B, soul and gospel music, Chuks predominantly collaborates with his brother, Chike, under the production name Play Dough.
Chuks Chiejine said of the deal: “I am super excited to sign with the renowned Kassner Music. Choosing Kassner was easy because it felt like family right from the beginning. I look forward to building a long-lasting relationship and a successful career with them.”
Brian Mahoney, Head of A&R at Kassner Music, said: “We’re all really proud to be working with Chuks, he’s not only an incredibly talented songwriter and producer but also one of the most positive and committed people we’ve met. We can’t wait for what lies ahead.”
