Songwriter and Producer Simon Ellis Joins the Kassner Music Roster

Kassner Music is delighted to announce that it has acquired the song catalogue of songwriter, producer and musical director, Simon Ellis. Simon experienced his greatest success as the co-writer of the chart-topping hits “Never Had A Dream Come True” and “Don’t Stop Movin’” performed by S Club 7, in addition to a further three top 5 UK singles with the group between 1999-2003.

“Never Had A Dream Come True” gained platinum-selling UK #1 status in 2000 and was the 43rd biggest selling song of the 2000s in the UK. It earned the group their only US singles chart breakthrough (Billboard #10), whilst also achieving success across Europe (Eurochart Hot 100 #9).

“Don’t Stop Movin’”, a double platinum-selling UK #1 in 2001, attained the award for Best British Single at the 2002 Brit Awards and was the UK’s 26th biggest-selling song of the 2000s. The song also resonated internationally, reaching #2 (and double platinum status) in Australia, #9 in Austria, #6 in Belgium, #9 in Germany, #3 in New Zealand, #3 in Poland, #4 in Sweden and #1 in Switzerland.

Other notable S Club 7 songs that are part of the acquisition include “Two In A Million” (UK #2 in 1999), “Alive” (UK #5 in 2002) and “Love Ain’t Gonna Wait For You” (UK #2 in 2003).

Alongside his work with S Club 7, Simon has co-written and produced songs for numerous successful artists including Steps, Randy Crawford, John Farnham, Emma Bunton, Hear’Say and Javine.

Simon Ellis says of the deal: “I can’t think of a better place than Kassner Music to be the new home of my song catalogue. I know they will work hard to keep the legacy alive of songs I am very proud to have written. I just hope I don’t get tired of listening to them played everywhere again!”

Alex Kassner says of the deal: “We are thrilled that Simon has chosen Kassner Music to be the long-term home of his most successful songwriting work. We will endeavour to find new opportunities for the series of pop masterpieces that he created, in particular the floorfiller that is “Don’t Stop Movin’”.
